They played, the children, according to the needs and desires of their bodies, the patterns of their perceptions, the blessings and lessons of the choices they made. The world was one for all. The mother laid out all her gifts before all her children, a feast of all possibility.
Some chose the feast, and some chose famine.
Some chose what nourished and sustained; some chose what was bitter, caustic, toxic.
Some stole from those who had chosen more, and some shared with those who had chosen less.
All was laid out for the choosing, Dark and Light, Winter and Summer, Love and Fear.
Throughout the day the children discovered, and chose, and played.
And the mother watched them all.
As Gifting Day began to draw to a close the mother called the children to her once again.
Home they came, from wherever their adventures had taken them.
